Since 1999 the Wolf Valley Charity Fund (WVCF) has been providing essential support and financial aid to charities and institutions in the local area, with the people behind the fund working tirelessly to ensure its continued success.

Their track record is certainly impressive, with the charity rais-ing an enormous €800.000,00 since it first began and the WVCF is widely considered to be an in-valuable source of help to hun-dreds of local people.

The hugely popular char-ity golf and entertainment day, which takes place every sum-mer raising thousands of euros thanks to the generous donations of residents and local support-ers, is a highlight of the Vale do Lobo events calendar, however the work of the charity continues on behind closed doors all year through fund raising, organis-ing events and finding the most needy causes to help.

Vale do Lobo is proud to sup-port the fund and provide spon-sorship of events that help to finance important local institu-tions and individual carers and to raise awareness of their situ-ations. This year a new Execu-tive Committee and President has been appointed to the WVCF. Paulo Chaves, who has been a

Vale do Lobo property owner since 1972, becomes the first Por-tuguese President and pledges to bring his own special attributes to the charity while his vast local knowledge is sure to only add to the wealth of experience held by the members of the WVCF. In the past the charity fund has helped causes of all sizes with some of the funds raised being used to support EXISTIR, a centre for the rehabilitation and profes-sional training of handicapped and underprivileged people in the Loulé area. Another institu-tion that has seen continued help from the WVCF is UNIR, a day care centre that provides sup-port for mentally handicapped residents, while the fund has also been essential in helping with the work of the food bank. Now, more than ever, many local institutions and families are struggling tomeet the bills and the WVCF works closely with the local councils and charities to identify the neediest causes in the area to receive all important funds.

Desde 1999, que a Associação de Caridade Wolf Valley tem prestado um apoio e ajuda financeira essenciais às causas sociais e instituições locais mais carenciadas, contando com o empenho e trabalho incansável dos membros para assegurar o seu contínuo sucesso.

O balanço da missão da Associação é simplesmente notável, perfazendo um impressionante montante de €800.000,00 de fundos angariados desde a sua fundação, possibilitando àWolf Valley Charity Fund uma reconhecida e preciosa contribuição na ajuda a centenas de pessoas do concelho e da região. O popular Dia e Torneio de Golfe de Caridade, que decorre anualmente no início do Verão, tem permitido angariar muitos fundos, graças à generosidade de residentes, entidades e apoios de diversas empresas locais, sendo uma das nobres iniciativas da Associação que integramo calendário de eventos de Vale do Lobo. Todavia, o seu extraordinário trabalho decor-re ao longo de todo o ano, na promoção de outras actividades, na obtenção de donativos e na identificação das causas sociais mais carenciadas para apoio.
