Vale do Lobo’s CEO, Diogo Gaspar Ferreira, is not only the head of the company, he is also a resident in the resort and he and his family enjoy Vale do Lobo for both work and pleasure.
When he first took the helm as CEO he also simultane-ously became a resident within the resort, a situation that was initially due to business needs but one that quickly changed into something very different.
Diogo Gaspar Ferreira explained: “I have always enjoyed living in a city but I am now at a different stage in my life and since my 30’s my appreciation of quality of life has definitely increased. For me Vale do Lobo is the perfect place to live, what I didn’t re-alise before I moved here is just what an amazing place this is to live in.”
Anyone staying in Vale do Lobo will have seen Diogo Gaspar Ferreira and his family around the resort, enjoy-ing walks along the beach, rounds on the courses or din-ner in one of the restaurants.
“Being able to take part in cultural and charity events within Vale do Lobo has always been a pleasure for me as it not only gives me a chance to engage with guests and visitors, it is also the perfect opportunity for me to catch up with property owners and to hear their opinions and suggestions.
I consider myself to be an open minded person and I have found it very easy to be accepted into the Vale do Lobo community as a whole and as the years have developed many of the property owners here have become firm friends.”
For the family of Diogo Gaspar Ferreira, attending the local school was a fast way to become integrated into the wider community and although none of his three chil-dren are currently living in Vale do Lobo (two are living in Lisbon while the third is in the UK), they all consider Vale do Lobo to be their home and the family get back together during the holidays each year.
“My children love to take part in sports and you can often find them at the gym, playing golf, football or tennis. They have of course always loved the beach and now that they are getting older the nightlife is also a great appeal, as are the fantastic par-ties that take place here. My children all speak fluent English, have many friends here and are great ambassadors, not only to me as a father, but also to Vale do Lobo as a whole.”
The family first approach of Vale do Lobo is something that is very close to the heart of Diogo Gaspar Ferreira who himself uses the facilities of Vale do Lobo to be able to spend quality time with his own family.
“I play golf with my two sons but it is getting increasingly dif-ficult to beat them! I do have an advantage though because they only play when they come here for the summer so I have plenty of time to improve my game before they arrive, however by the end of the holidays it is always a close call – at least I don’t have to give them shots anymore!”
