The sporting facilities of Vale do Lobo are considered to be a great benefit to living with-in the resort for Diogo Gaspar Ferreira who uses sport as a way to relax but when here he also relishes in playing host to his many friends who visit when he is not working. “Everyone in Portugal has heard of Vale do Lobo but although they have heard of the name they don’t really know the resort so it is nice to be able to surprise family and friends when they come to visit and for them to see the real Vale do Lobo. I seem to be exceptionally popular in the sum-mer months and my house is always full of people who are eager to spend some of the summer in Vale do Lobo!”

While Vale do Lobo is a home for Diogo Gaspar Ferreira it is also a place of work and to be able to be a regular resident within the resort is something that he finds challenging: “Whenever I am around the resort I am always looking at things from a different perspective, I am viewing them as a person of responsibility within Vale do Lobo, this makes it impossible to be a nor-mal resident here but not something that I don’t enjoy at the same time.

Although I live and work here I am still able to find time to switch off and relax. During the week-ends over the winter and spring months I like to go down to the beach with my partner Nathalie and our dog Snowy and walk along the shore. I always see the beauty here and I am constantly surprised by the sea, the views and the nature that surrounds the resort.”

With Vale do Lobo now celebrating its 50 th anniversary Diogo Gaspar Ferreira con-cluded by looking towards the future and how the resort would still be part of his fam-ily as the generations develop: “Vale do Lobo is a place that embraces every generation and has some-thing to suit all age groups. It is always fantastic to see parents who used to come to the resort as children and who are now enjoying it with their own children and this is something that can I see continuing for many years to come.

My own family has grown up here and I am certain that they will make Vale do Lobo their home throughout the decades just as many other families have done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future.”

Todos falam fluentemente Inglês, têmmuitos amigos no resort e são excelentes embaixadores, não só para mim na qualidade de pai, como tambémpara Vale do Lobo como um todo.”

Oconceito de destino familiar que caracteriza Vale do Lobo é algo que tem uma conotação muito especial para Diogo Gaspar Ferreira, que aproveita as infra-estruturas do resort para poder desfrutar mais tempo com sua família.

“Jogo golfe com os meus dois filhos, mas é cada vez mais difícil vencê-los! Eu tenho uma vantagem, pois eles apenas jogam quando cá estão no Verão, mas apesar de ter muito mais tempo para melhorar o meu jogo antes da sua chegada, quando se aproxima o final das férias é sempre por um triz, mesmo sem lhes dar quaisquer tacadas de avanço!”

As condições desportivas em Vale do Lobo são um dos grandes atracti-vos do resort para Diogo Gaspar Ferreira, que utiliza o desporto como forma de descontrair, mas também gosta, particularmente, de ser anfitrião dos seus amigos que o visitam quando não está a trabalhar.

“Todas as pessoas em Portugal já ouviram falar de Vale do Lobo, mas embora o nome lhes seja familiar não conhecem realmente o resort. Assim sendo, é fantástico conseguir surpreender a família e os amigos quando nos visitam e descobrir como é, na realidade, Vale do Lobo.

Sinto-me extremamente popular durante os meses de Verão, e a minha casa está sempre repleta de amigos e familiares, ansiosos para passar algum tempo emVale do Lobo!”

Muito embora seja aqui a sua casa, este é também um local de trabalho pelo que, conseguir ser um residente normal no resort é, sem dúvida, um desafio: “Estou sempre a olhar para tudo ao meu redor com uma perspectiva diferente, pois analiso todas as coisas com a responsabilidade de quem gere uma empresa, o que me impossibilita de ser um residente regular mas que, ao mesmo tempo, até aprecio bastante!
